Shortly after signing one of the richest contracts in Braves history in 1994, Gant broke his right leg in an ATV accident. The Braves released him in March of 1994, the Reds signed him in June of 1994 as a replacement-in-waiting for Kevin Mitchell. Gant did not play in a game until Opening Day of 1995. On the front left tail is the “RUSSELL ATHLETIC” manufacturer’s tag with size “42”, wash instructions and a flag tag reading “100% POLYESTER”. Adjacent below is a white strip tag that reads “PROPERTY OF CINCINNATI REDS 94” printed in black. On the left chest is the “1869 CINCINNATI RED STOCKINGS” patch embroidered black, gold and white. Adjacent below is the “REDS” logo. On the right chest and on back is the player number “6”. Across the back is the player name “GANT”. All lettering and numbering is done in red on white tackle twill. On the rear collar is the Russell “R” embroidered in red. The jersey is properly tagged and was presented to us as team-issued.
