We are proud to exclusively offer a number if impressive astroturf pieces cut from the football gridiron surface of Philadelphia's Veterans Stadium, including the Eagles logo that graced the midfield stripe since 1995, when the original Veterans Stadium turf was replaced. The pieces represent part of the stadium's colorful history. Opened on April 4, 1971, The Vet has been the scene of some of the city's most unforgettable moments, including the Phillies' only World Championship by virtue of their victory over the Kansas City Royals in the 1980 World Series and the Eagles' NFC Championship victory over the hated Dallas Cowboys in 1981. In February 1995, when the new artificial surface was installed, the green, white and black bird's head logo drew the attention of all eyes. In the time since, the Vet has hosted two thrilling playoff games, the NFL Wild Card game on December 30, 1995 which saw the Eagles stomp the Detroit Lions 58-37 (setting a record for most points in a playoff game), and the Wild Card game last December 31 when the Eagles crushed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21-3. The turf was also down for Temple games and the annual Army-Navy Game, and for concerts by the Rolling Stones in November 1971 and the Dave Matthews Band in ‘98 and ‘99. Last January, the field was again resurfaced and the angry looking bird logo was preserved as a piece of team and stadium history. The logo measures 24'6" x 35' on a full cutout size of green turf measuring 28'5" x 44' that includes some of the white yard markers. As can be expected, the patch of field shows wear and tear from the constant rumble of cleats on it, making it the perfect symbol of hard-nosed Vet Stadium football. It comes with a letter of authenticity from the Eagles.
