Lot #802:

1986–87 Ronnie Lester Seattle SuperSonics Preseason Game-Used Jersey (Possible Last Jersey Ever Worn By Lester • Sourced From Equipment Manager)

On the front left tail is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with size “40” and player number “12” written in black marker. Adjacent above is another “Sand-Knit” tag reading “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the SEATTLE SUPERSONICS”. Adjacent to the left is a white strip tag that reads “2” LB”. On the right inseam is the “100% NYLON” tag with wash instructions. Across the front reads “SONICS” in white screenprint. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “12” in green and yellow screenprint. Across the back is the player name “LESTER” in white screenprint. Lester was acquired via trade with the LA Lakers, but did not play in the regular season. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as preseason worn and in our opinion shows light use. We were told by our consignor that this jersey was acquired directly from the SuperSonics Equipment Manager via written request and that it was presented to him as being worn by Lester. It is more than possible that this jersey could be the last jersey he ever wore.
