Baseball in the early 1900s was the purest form of the game, and this remarkably well-preserved cabinet card revives the quaint, unspoiled nature of the game before it became a big business. The sepia-toned cardboard matting shows a team photo of the Norwood baseball team, believed to be from Norwood, Massachusetts. Measuring 9 1/2" x 7 1/2", the picture has beautifully survived a century with only a few minor scratches. While the cardboard has been jaggedly cut around it, only a tiny portion of the photograph on the lower left corner has been disturbed.
