This classic poster recaptures the psychedelic scene of Haight-Ashbury in 1967, when some of the most important rock music ever made came out of the clubs and concert halls in the Bay Area. One example was Janis Joplin and her band Big Brother and the Holding Company, who played three days of shows that were billed as "Motherload" at the Avalon Ballroom in May 1967. The 14" x 19 1/2" concert poster has a photograph of Joplin and the band set against a blue background with black and red lettering and cites two other acts on the bill, Sir Douglas Quintent and The Orkustra. The mind-bending artwork on the poster alone can make you feel like someone spiked your Kool Aid. The poster is in near-flawless condition and is preserved under glass in a 21" x 29" black frame with a white interior background.
