General George Patton was arguably the most controversial army officer in United States history. He was also one of the greatest military leaders in American history. His tank forces led the U.S. army to victory during the Battle of the Bulge. On November 1, 1944 he sent a reply for an autograph to Allison Greenwood of Bellaire, Ohio. He said in the letter " I am sending you my signature to this letter as the autograph you requested". The signature is in blue pen, reads "g. S Patton Jr." and rates a solid 9.
