Swedish born Ingemar Johansson was a member of the Swedish Olympic team in 1952 and won the European Professional Title in 1956. On June 25, 1959, Johansson knocked out Floyd Patterson at Madison Square Garden and became only the fifth Heavyweight Champ to be born outside the United States. This fight contract describes the conditions as to a bout between Johansson and Maj. Henry Cooper. The fight took place in Stockholm, Sweden where Johansson knocked out Cooper in the fifth round to retain his European Title. Johansson has signed the contract on the bottom left in blue ink and the signature rates an 8. The contract itself is in excellent condition with a couple slight tears and slight water damage.
