On June 19, 1936, Max Schmeling defeated Joe Louis with a twelve round knockout and his first career loss. In their rematch two years later, the "Brown Bomber" gained his revenge by knocking out Schmeling in the first round. This lithograph, numbered 1190 of 1500, of Louis and Schmeling in one of their tremendous match-ups, measures 16" X 20" and comes in a lacquered wood frame which measures 22" X 26". The frame shows some scuffing and dents. Both fighters signed the lithograph in pencil with the signatures rating at least a 9. There is also some minor staining in the corners of the lithograph that in no way interferes with the signatures or the art work.
