Dave Winfield was one of the best athletes to play the game of baseball and became a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2001. A World Series champion, Winfield was a 12-time All-Star and earned seven Gold Glove Awards and six Silver Slugger Awards. His No. 31 is retired by the San Diego Padres in 1979 he lead the National League in RBI. On the left front tail is a “Wilson” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Above is a strip tag with “31 39” embroidered on it in white stitching. Across the chest reads, “San Diego” and the player number “31” appears on both the front and on the back. These are done in yellow on white tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name “WINFIELD” in yellow tackle twill on a brown nameplate that is sewn directly onto the brown jersey. Winfield signed the jersey in two places; once in green pen on the back player number “3” and once in black pen on the front collar. In our opinion, the autographs rate a seven overall. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
