Tom Fears was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1970. Fears was named to the NFL 1950s All-Decade Team and appeared in was named All-Pro one time in 1950. He won an NFL championship in 1951. “Riddell” manufactured RK4 laminated “SUSPENSION HELMET” with the original inside padding. On the back pad reads, “FEARS” in black marker. Original “Riddell” manufactured chin strap with two-bar facemask. On the back of the helmet reads, “Riddell” in white script lettering. The helmet is the old Rams logo that is a blue and yellow swirl design. On the top of the helmet are a cluster of air holes. This helmet is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an additional LOA. This helmet is sourced directly from the family off Todd Marinovich. Marinovich’s grandfather, Chief Fertig, was the Chief of Police at Huntington Park and was part of the security at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Fertig was close friends with the equipment managers and they would gift him helmets often. This helmet was once on display in a museum.
