The World Series has been the New York Yankees' Mount Olympus and this fabulous 22-item lot contains enough Series memories to fill Yankee Stadium. Included are nine World Series programs dating back to the 1943 series between the Yanks and the New York Giants. The ‘43 program, a rarity indeed, is a 10" x 6 ½" scorecard (priced at 10 cents) with a striking red, white and blue cover. The centerfold page is in fact two scorecards, one of the Series and one that listing all three New York baseball teams that is contained in a loose insert from the Civilian Defense Volunteer Office with a message from Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia (whose signature is printed on the cover as well). While the pages are yellowed and have a bit of fraying, it only adds to the romance of the times. The other programs are full-sized (8 ½" x 11") are from 1950, ‘58, ‘60, ‘61, ‘64 (2), and ‘76. There is also a program from the 1977 All-Star Game, played at Yankee Stadium. All programs are in overall excellent condition, with only modest fraying on the upper corners of some pages. Included in the lot are plastic-encased, used game ticket stubs from ‘57 (2), ‘58 (2), ‘60 (2), ‘61, and‘64(2), and there are two 2 1/1" x 5" Stadium Club passes each from'60 (yellow) and ‘64 (pink), and one from the ‘77 All-Star Game (white).
