As the Cardinals did to the Dodgers in 1946, the Dodgers did to the Cardinals in 1949. The Dodgers came from off the pace to catch St. Louis and win the pennant. After printing World Series tickets, anticipating their trip to the Fall Classic, the Cardinals issued the tickets with the following statement printed on the tickets. "We're really Red Birds now-embarrassed as can be. But here's a World Series ticket as a souvenir. And (surprise!) You get your money back, too. Seriously, thank you for your interest and support. It's grand to know we have so many good fans. Fred Saigh. (For the Cardinal family)." The ticket is in good condition. It was separated at the stub perforation, and has been scotch taped together. There are two small scrapes at the bottom of the ticket.
