The All-American Red Heads were one of the first women’s professional basketball teams to make an impact in a usually male-dominated sport. In 2012, the team was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for their contributions to the sport. Charlotte Adams became one of the team’s few player coaches and scored over 26,000 points in her career. The jersey is sans manufacturer’s tag. Across the chest reads, “RED HEADS” and across the back reads the player name “ADAMS”. These are done in white tackle twill sewn onto a red nameplate. Missing front buttons and number patch on the back. On the blue collar are two white tackle twill stars. The shorts are sans manufacturer’s tag but comes with original belt. On the left thigh area is the team’s shield logo done in red, white and blue chain-stitching. White tackle twill stars run down the side and across the bottom of the shorts. Accompanied by a pair of blue and white striped socks. with three red tackle twill stars on them. Inside each sock is a tag that reads, “EAST. TENN. MILLS, INC. Johnson City Tenn.” with washing instructions on the back. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an related Red Heads memorabilia, such as photographs, ads and magazine programs.
