In Kobe Bryant’s historic career that includes five NBA championships, two NBA Finals MVP awards, 11 All-NBA First Teams and enough points to be named the Los Angeles Lakers all-time leading scorer, he won his one and only regular season MVP award in 2008. Bryant averaged 28.3 points per game with 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists in addition to leading the NBA in total points scored with 2,323. A first ballot induction into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame is waiting for when Bryant is eligible to enter. On the front left tail is an “adidas” manufacturer’s tag with four flag tags attached: “54”, “CLIMALITE”, “LENGTH +4” and “2007-2008”. Below is an NBA MeiGrayGroup tag that reads, “NBA GameWorn 2007-2008 Season AM006477. On the left chest is the official “NBA” logo embroidered and on the right chest is a Larry O’Brien trophy patch embroidered. Across the chest reads, “LAKERS” and across the back reads the player name “BRYANT”. These are done in purple on white tackle twill. The player number “24” appears on both the front and on the back in white on purple tackle twill. All numbering and lettering are sewn directly onto the yellow jersey. Bryant signed on the back player number “4” in black pen and in our opinion rates an 8 overall. Adjacent to the back player number “4” is NBA GENUINE sticker “LL016727”. This jersey was presented by the Lakers as game-used, but in matter of fact it was not. The jersey is properly tagged, but shows no use. We have yet to uncover a conclusive photo-match from the limited availability of period images for this item. It is more than possible that Bryant was issued more than one shirt for this event (ie: first half, second half, PR event, back-up etc.). This shirt is being offered as a game jersey only, the capacity in which quarter it was worn or if it was ever worn, is not being opined upon. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA and an LOA from the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation. The LOA states this jersey was worn during the 2008 NBA Finals and was autographed by Bryant in the presence of Jason McDevitt, an employee of The Los Angeles Lakers, Inc.
