This signed Mickey Mantle ball is a bonanza for connoisseurs of Mantle memorabilia. Few Mantle signatures around include his full name of Mickey Charles Mantle, but that is how he signed this very gently toned OAL MacPhail ball on the sweet spot with a blue pen – under which he also wrote one of his nicknames, "The Commerce Comet," another rarity for a Mantle-signed item, with the signature rating a solid 8. Other information written by Mantle on the ball is "56, 57, 62 MVP, No. 7, HOF 74, 1956 TC, 536 HR's," denoting his three MVP award, his election to the Hall of Fame in 1974, his Triple-Crown-winning season of 1956 and his 536 career home runs.
