With his business suit, tie and trusty Fedora hat, Connie Mack was a familiar presence in the Philadelphia Athletics dugout for over half a century. Not before or since has a team owner been its manager, but Mack was a baseball and business genius so it was a natural move and it paid off from 1901-51 when Mack won a record 3,776 games. He also won 9 AL pennants and 5 World Series. This nicely toned AOL Johnson near mint ball has red and blue seams and on one panel is Mack's perfectly-scripted signature, "To my old friend Eddie, Connie Mack," in blue fountain pen. The signature rates a solid 8. The league markings on the ball are crisp and clear.
