On the front left tail is the “RUSSELL ATHLETIC” manufacturer’s tag with size “48”, wash instructions and two flag tags reading “100% POLYESTER” and “2” EXTRA LENGTH”. Adjacent below is a white strip tag with the year “1999” printed in black. The font on this year ID features secondary configuration, which is atypical. Across the front reads “Orioles” in black on orange tackle twill. "Orioles" is affixed in zig zig orange and black thread. Adjacent below is the player number “8” in orange on black tackle twill with a “STEINER” hologram. We are unable to confirm the exact location of the front player number "8", but the proximity seems acceptable. On the left sleeve is the Baltimore “Oriole” logo embroidered in black, orange, white and yellow on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the player number “7” in black tackle twill to commemorate the death of Cal Ripken Sr. Adjacent below is the Russell “R” embroidered in black. Across the back is the player name “RIPKEN”. Adjacent below is the player number “8”. Both are done in the same black on orange tackle twill. The player numbers are affixed with zig zag-stitched orange thread. Ripken Jr. has signed the front of the jersey with the added inscriptions “1982 AL ROY”, “3184 Hits” and “2632 CG”, in our opinion the signature rates an 8. Between the second and third buttons are two corresponding pieces of velcro. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a COA from Steiner and photos of Cal Ripken Jr. signing the jersey.
