Tom Glavine earned 1995 World Series MVP honors after winning Game 2 and the throwing a masterpiece during the series-clinching Game 6. Glavine pitched eight innings of one-hit baseball, which was just the fifth one-hitter in World Series history. Glavine was a two-time National League Cy Young Award winner, has his No. 47 retired by the Atlanta Braves and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 2014. On the front left tail is a “RUSSELL ATHLETIC” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached below are two flag tags that reads, “100% POLYESTER” and “2” EXTRA BODY LENGTH”. Across the chest reads, “Atlanta” and on the back is the player number “47”. These are done in red on navy blue tackle twill. Below “Atlanta” is the team’s Tomahawk logo. Across the back reads the player name, “GLAVINE” in navy blue tackle twill on a grey nameplate. On the right sleeve an embroidered patch that reads, “1995 World Series - WELCOME TO THE SHOW” and below is a Russell Athletic logo embroidered. On the left sleeve is a “30th SEASON IN ATLANTA Braves” patch embroidered on white tackle twill. We are unclear the exact capacity this shirt was worn. It is a hobby accepted theory that Rafael Belliard requested a full set of shirts after the series from a clubhouse attendant. It is possible these were worn in the series, bench-worn or regular season stock that were patched and prepped for the World Series. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
