Sandwiched around their 1970 world championship were two seasons in which the Baltimore Orioles won just about everything in sight but ran into two of destiny's darlings in the World Series, losing the 1969 Series to the Amazin' New York Mets and the 1971 Series with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in the seventh game to Roberto Clemente's Pittsburgh Pirates. Still, the Birds of that three-year span were one of the strongest teams ever, and these two balls from ‘69 and ‘71 billboard some of the finest players of their era. The ‘69 ball, in excellent plus condition and stamped "Baltimore Orioles," has 26 signatures including manager Earl Weaver (SS), Jim Palmer, Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Boog Powell, Don Buford, Elrod Hendricks, Dave Johnson, etc. The signatures rate 8s and 9s. The ‘71 ball, in near mint condition and stamped with an Orioles logo, has 26 signatures including Weaver (SS), Palmer, F. Robinson, B. Robinson, Buford, Dick Hall, Andy Etchebarren, Mark Belanger, etc. Signatures rate 5s and 6s.
