First ballot National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Cal Ripken Jr. was a 19-time All Star, a World Series champion, a two-time American League MVP and an eight-time Silver Slugger Award winner. Known for his “Ironman” streak, Ripken Jr. has his No. 8 retired by the Baltimore Orioles franchise. On the inside sweatband of the cap is a “New Era” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent is the “MLB OFFICIAL LICENSEE” tag and the size “7 5-8” tag. On the underside of the brim is the player number “8” written in black pen. Ripken Jr. signed adjacent to the player number in blue pen with the added inscription, “1985” and in our opinion, rates a 7 overall. On the front of the cap is the team’s logo embroidered. This cap is sourced from front office employee Hank Peters, whom the cap was given to. This cap is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA and an additional LOA.
