Johnny Bench is one of the best hitting catchers in baseball history and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989 on the first ballot. The two-time World Series champion won a World Series MVP, two National League MVPs, has his No. 5 retired by the Cincinnati Reds franchise and was named to the MLB’s All-Time Team. On the front left tail is a strip tag with “82 1” embroidered on it in red chain-stitching. On the inside below the rear collar is a “Wilson” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads “CINCINNATI”, the player number “5” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name, “BENCH”. All numbering and lettering are done in red tackle twill sewn directly onto the grey jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
