Billy Williams was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987. Williams is known for his 16 seasons spent with the Chicago Cubs, earning six All-Star appearances, winning a National League batting title and having his No. 26 retired by the franchise. Williams was a finalist for the MLB All-Century Team and was a NL MVP runner up in 1970. On the front left tail is a grey swatch with the year, “74” embroidered on it in blue chain-stitching. On the inside below the rear collar is a “Wilson” size “40” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Below is a grey strip tag with, “26 74 1 40” embroidered on it in blue chain-stitching. Across the chest reads, “CHICAGO” and the player number “26” appears on both the front and on the back. These are done in blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the grey jersey. On the left sleeve is the team’s logo patch embroidered. Williams signed the front center tail in black pen and in our opinion, rates a 7 overall. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
