When Johnny Podres blanked the Yankees 2-0 in game seven of the 1955 World Series, Dodger fans partied so hard they nearly dislodged Brooklyn from the rest of New York City, having finally got the Yankees' number after so many failed tries. For millions of fans of "Dem Bums" both then and now, ‘55 will never die. Which is why this lightly toned ONL Giles ball makes the exploits of Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, and Sandy Amoros come to life as if they happened only yesterday. As it happens, the signatures of 25 members of that team who signed the ball have endured remarkably well. All vivid and sharp in blue ink, they rate 7s, 8s, and 9s and as well as the above names include those of manager Walt Alston (SS), Jackie Robinson,. Carl Furillo, Roy Campanella, Billy Loes, Carl Erskine, Joe Black, Jim Gilliam and a rookie Sandy Koufax. The ball comes with a PSA letter of authenticity.
