Nolan Ryan was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. One of the best strikeout pitchers in the history of baseball, Ryan holds MLB records for career strikeouts (5,714) and no-hitters (7). Ryan was named to the MLB All-Century Team and won his one and only World Series championship in 1969. On the inside below the rear collar is a “W.A. Goodman & Sons” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads, “Astros”, below is the team’s star logo and on the back is the player number “34”. These are done in navy blue on white tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name “RYAN” in navy blue tackle twill on a white nameplate. On the second “s” in “Astros” is a Nolan Ryan hologram sticker. Ryan signed the jersey adjacent to the team’s star logo on the front in black pen and in our opinion, rates an 8-9 overall. We have unable to confirm placement of "Astros" across the chest via period imagery. This shirt matches a Mears authenticated example with certification number 301281. This shirt exhibits proper extra length and no patch ever present on the sleeve. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use.
