Carlton Fisk was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000 and has his No. 72 retired by the Chicago White Sox. Fisk was an 11-time All-Star, won three Silver Slugger Awards and holds the AL record for serving the most years behind the plate with 24. On the front left tail is a “RUSSELL ATHLETIC” size “48” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Below is a strip tag with “92-1” printed on it. On the inside below the rear neckline is a Russell Athletic distributor’s tag, which is a unique and acceptable variation. There is another tag that reads, “100% POLYESTER”. On the left chest reads, “SOX” and on the right chest and on the back is the player number “72”. All numbering and lettering are done in black on grey tackle twill. Fisk signed above the front player number in black pen and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall. On the right sleeve is a “COMISKEY PARK CHICAGO WHITE SOX” patch and below is a Russell Athletic logo embroidered. On the left sleeve is a black diamond embroidered as a memorial to two White Sox employees who passed away during the off season. We believe that this shirt originated from a bulk purchase from equipment manager, Chicken Willie Thompson. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
