During their eighth season of existence, the Oakland Raiders won their franchise’s first title with a 40-7 victory over the Houston Oilers in the AFL championship game. Wayne Hawkins was drafted as an offensive guard in the American Football League's first draft. A five-time AFL All-Star, Hawkins was named to the All-Time Raider Team. Presented is one of the earliest championship pieces in the Raiders’ history. Size 14. Synthetic moissanite and onyx decorate the center of the ring face, fenced in by raised text reporting, "OAKLAND RAIDERS AFL CHAMPIONS." The left shank reads, “OAKLAND RAIDERS 40 HOUSTON OILERS 7” with an “AFL NFL” shield below. Below reads, “PRIDE” and the number “19” on a football. The right shank reads, “W. HAWKINS - 0 GUARD 65 - RAIDERS - POISE” and the number “67” on a football to pair with the opposite site. Interior band is stamped by maker, "JOHN ROBERTS 14K." The ring weighs 35 grams and is NRMNT-MNT condition.
