Mike Singletary is a Super Bowl champion, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, was named to the NFL’s 1980s All-Decade Team and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998. This jersey was displayed in the Chicago Bears Hall of Fame in 1999 and Singletary donated it to former Bears teammate Leslie Frazier, where he was the head coach for Trinity College. On the front left tail is a “Wilson” size “48” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. The relocation of the Wilson tag can be explained by the tapering of the side seam. The player number “50” appears on the front, on the back and on both sleeves. Across the back reads the player name, “SINGLETARY” on a white mesh nameplate. All numbering and lettering are done in navy blue on orange vinyl. Below the player number on the left sleeve reads, “GSH”. There are over 10 repairs and some hit marks on the shirt. The collar has deep sweat staining. This jersey has customized sides and underarms for an overall tighter tapered fit. This was once rejected by another authenticator for inconsistencies in the manufacturer’s tag when compared to the “GSH” on the sleeve. This can be explained by the frugalness of the Bears carrying overstock from prior seasons and adding the “GSH” for subsequent use. The repairs throughout the body and the shoulders appear to be consistent with football wear and are on par with other Bears uniforms that we have handled. This along with the additional documentation leads us to believe this is a quality representation. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
