Hard as it is to believe now, ballplayers once had to play winter ball to make money. Many players wintered in the Pacific Coast League. This lightly toned official blue-and-red stitched PCL ball is stamped "Hollywood Base Ball Club, 1933" on the sweet spot and contains the signatures of an incredible array of legends including two of the game's greatest hurlers of all time, Bob Feller and Satchel Paige (who could play in the PCL but not the big leagues during this time). Other signatures include Ted Williams who signed his name and "(.406-1941)", Jimmie Foxx (also signed in ‘41), Honus Wagner and ex-Yankee and Red Sox outfielder Cedric Durst. The signatures are in black ink except for Feller and Paige in brown, and rate from 7 to 9 on this magnificent ball.
