On this glittering snow-white ball are the signatures of the two men who would turn baseball on its ear. The near-mint condition Official 1997 All-Star Game Selig ball features the signatures of 21 All-Stars who gathered in Cleveland for the game, including some of the biggest names in the game such as Pedro Martinez, Jeff Bagwell, Curt Schilling, Larry Walker, Daryl Kile, etc. Ironically, not much attention was focused at the time on McGwire, then still with the Oakland A's and a reserve on the AL squad, or Sosa, who was not chosen to be on the NL squad but signed the ball at a later date. His signature is the first on a side panel in vivid blue ink, rating a near-10, while McGwire's is in brown ink, also grading near 10. All signatures are in blue or brown and none grades lower than an 8.
