On October 21, 1934, a big-league "dream team" led by Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Gomez, Charlie Gehringer, Earl Averill and managed by Connie Mack set sail to the Orient to play a series of exhibitions against Japan's best players. They wound up winning 15 of 16 games. Many of the touring stars signed this remarkable cream-colored ball with black and white stitching, but what makes the ball so stunning is that Ruth's signature sits on one sweet spot and Gehrig on the other! While there's been some fading of all signatures, those of the Bambino and the Iron Horse are eminently readable, especially Ruth's, which rates a 6 to Gehrig's 5. Two of the strongest signatures are Mack's and Foxx's, one over the other in a grouping on one panel. They rate 7s as well on this dream ball.
