On October 17th, 2015 the perfect college sports storm rolled through Ann Arbor, Michigan and deflated The Big House filled with almost 110,000 fans. The No. 12 ranked Michigan Wolverines and first-year coach Jim Harbaugh hosted their instate rival, the No. 7 ranked Michigan State Spartans to state their claim about being the best college football team in Michigan. With 10 seconds left in a game where Michigan State never led, Michigan was faced with a 4th and short and decided to punt. A low snap led to the ball being bobbled by punter Blake O’Neill, whom frantically tried to kick the ball out of harm’s way. Unfortunately for him and the rest of the Wolverines, the deflected ball was caught by Spartans and was returned 38 yards for a touchdown as the game clock expired. It was perhaps college football’s most thrilling finishes, in addition to being on the most dramatic scenes of a historically great college rivalry. On the left inseam is a materials tag with washing instructions. On the inside below the rear collar is an “adidas” size “44” manufacturer’s tag. Attached adjacent is a flag tag that reads, “4” L.B.”. Below the v-neck reads, “adidas” in yellow stitching and on the right chest reads, “B1G” in navy blue and yellow stitching. The player number “12” appears on the front, on the back and on both shoulders. Across the back reads the player name, “O’NEILL”” on a navy blue nameplate. All numbering and lettering are done in yellow tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. This jersey is a one-of-a-kind memento that will always bring back vivid memories of one of college football’s craziest finishes.
