Baseball got a taste of the future when a 21-year-old shortstop from Kalamazoo, Michigan named Derek Jeter played his first game as a New York Yankee. Jeter's stay was only brief, a mere 15 games, but he was the man a year later when he won the AL Rookie of the Year Award and began being fitted for four championships rings in five years. A tremendous clutch hitter and superb fielder, Jeter was MVP of the last World Series and has a .318 career average. This toned OAL Budig ball shows Jeter's sense of history as he signed it along with "5-29-95, 1st game" in blue ink. The signature is clear and vivid, rating an 8. The ball comes with a proof of authenticity from a clubhouse attendant.
