Comiskey Park, home to the Chicago White Sox from 1910-90, played host to four World Series and three All-Star games. But the double-decked park on 35th Street and Shields Avenue is better known for its exploding scoreboard in centerfield, introduced by former owner Bill Veeck in 1960, and for the ruination of ‘70s disco music, the result of an anti-disco rally between games of a 1979 doubleheader that turned ugly after a pile of records was set ablaze in the outfield, sparking a fan riot that forced a forfeiture of the nightcap. This section of two wood seats from Comiskey weathered it all. The bright green seats are of the rarer figural style, with a detailed design on the metal outer edges. The numbers "1" and "2" are stenciled in black paint on the top wood slats. The seats come with a letter from White Sox Chairman of the Board Jerry Reinsdorf.
