Arlington Stadium was the home of the Texas League Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs from1956-71, before becoming big league in 1971 when the Washington Senators moved to the Lone Star State and began playing as the Texas Rangers and called the park home through 1992. This chocolate brown plastic folding seat from Arlington Stadium was signed by Texas homeboy Nolan Ryan, who came to play with the Rangers in 1989 when he was 42. Regarded as washed-up, all Ryan did was strike out a league-high 301 hitters and notch his 5000th career K that year, and hurl a no-hitter in each of the next two seasons, his 6th and 7th overall, before retiring in 1993. Ryan's grade-9 signature is in white marker across the back of the chair, above a gold plaque that reads, "Genuine Box Seat, Arlington Stadium," and "Authenticity Guaranteed by Texas Rangers Baseball Club." There is a silver plate on the upper left of the seat back with a black number "8" on it. The seat is in excellent condition.
