Billy Beane was a first round draft pick for the New York Mets, but is better known for his front office career with the Oakland Athletics where he spearheaded the sabermetrics movement known as moneyball. On the inside below the rear collar is a “Rawlings” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached adjacent is a flag tag that reads, “SET 1 1985”. Below is a grey strip tag with, “35 44 1” embroidered on it in blue stitching. Across the chest reads “Mets”, the player number “35” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name, “BEANE” on a grey nameplate. The nameplate has been restored All numbering and lettering are done in blue on orange tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
