Known for his consistent incredible batting averages, prowess on the base paths and overall tenacity on the field, Ty Cobb was equally remembered for his hatred towards others and being one of the most despised ballplayers in the game. Oddly, Cobb seems to have had a religious side to him as attested by this personal pocket Bible he owned. On the black "leather-textured" cover of the New Testament Bible is "Tyrus R. Cobb" stamped in gold. The book measures 2 5/8" x 4 1/4", the pages are edged in gold and the cover has fraying on the edges. It is in very good condition. This is certainly a rare item of Cobb's private life.
