Boasting a reputation and one of baseball's best closers, Dennis Eckersley also showed flashes of brilliance as a starting pitcher. After winning a career high 20 games in 1978, Eckersley later became the first of two pitchers in MLB history to have both a 20-win season and a 50-save season in a career. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004 on the first ballot and is a member of the MLB All-Time Team. On the front left tail is a "1978" year tag and a tag with washing instructions. On the inside below the rear collar is a "McAULIFFE UNIFORM CORP." manufacturer's tag with a size "44" tag below. Across the chest reads, "RED SOX" and on the back is the player number "43". These are done in red on navy blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the white knit jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
