Gordie Howe, better known as, “Mr. Hockey”, played over 30 seasons of professional hockey and is one of the greatest players of all time. A 23-time NHL All-Star, Howe held many of the sport's scoring records until Wayne Gretzky came along, but still holds NHL records for most games and seasons played. Howe won four Stanley Cups, won six Hart Trophies as the league's most valuable player and won six Art Ross Trophies as the leading scorer. Howe was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972. Stamped on the top part of the wooden shaft reads, :NORTHLAND SKI MFG. CO. ST. PAUL MINN., U. S. A” and “LIPPMAN’S TOOL SHOP DETROIT, MICHIGAN”. Adjacent reads, “RIGHT” and “LIE NO 7”. In the middle of the shaft, stamped in black, reads, “NORTHLAND PRO” and adjacent reads, “HOWE”. There is black tape on the top knob and on the blade. Above the blade on the make of the shaft, the wood is splintering. There are over 20 signatures done in pen and in our opinion, rates a 5-6 overall. Signatures include: Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, Marcel Pronovost, Johnny Bucyk, Norm Ullman, Larry Hillman, Bob Goldham, Lorne Ferguson, Murray Costello, Earl Reibel, Metro Prystai, Bucky Hollingworth, Red Kelly,Gordon Hollingworth, Glen Hall, Al Arbour, Jimmy Skinner and others. This stick was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
