A three-time NFL champion, Bobby Layne was voted First-Team All-Pro three times, led the NFL in passing yards twice, led the NFL in passing touchdowns once and was named to the NFL 1950s All-Decade Team. Layne has his No. 22 retired by the Detroit Lions franchise and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967. Sans manufacturer’s tag. The player number “22” appears on both the front and on the back in white tackle twill sewn directly onto the blue jersey. There is a repair on each of the back player numbers and on the left shoulder. The crotch piece has been removed for the players comfort. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows oustanding use. Accompanied by an additional LOA that grades the jersey an A7. It is also accompanied by an LOA from Eugenia Macklem, who was married to the late Roy “Friday” Macklem, who was the equipment manager for over 45 years dating back to 1934. This jersey is from the personal collection of Gus Le Donne.
