Earl Campbell was the first overall pick by the Houston Oilers in the 1978 draft. In his first professional season, he won the Rookie of the Year award as well as the MVP. On the inside neck is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag size “48” with washing instructions. Attached is a hanging flag tag that reads “100% NYLON” with additional washing instructions. On the left chest is the “ORIGINAL AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE TEAM SILVER ANNIVERSARY 1960-1984” patch sewn on. This would ultimately be the final season for the Oilers in Houston. Across the chest, the back, and on both sleeves reads player number “34” painted on in blue on red. Above the player number on the back reads player name “CAMPBELL” in blue tackle twill on a white nameplate. This jersey has custom underarm inserts for fitting purposes. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use.
