Pennants and the New York Yankees are synonymous, and this 17" 23" soft cloth pennant is an homage to the 1953 Yankees who won the franchise's third straight World Championship by blitzing the AL by 8 games and then cutting down the Brooklyn Dodgers in a 6-game World Series. The rare pennant was made to hang on the wall of true-blue Yankee fans of the era. Attached to a rod and with a gold cord, the pennant features a white infield set against a reddish brown background, with the last names of each infielder – McDougald, Rizzuto, Martin,.Collins – superimposed over his position, while the rest of the roster, including Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford and manager Casey Stengel, are listed on either the first or third base line. There is some cracking of the white infield area and some fraying at the bottom.
