Known for his hitting brilliance, George Herman “Babe” Ruth set career records for home runs (714), slugging percentage (.690), RBI (2,217), and on-base plus slugging (1.164). He helped the Yankees win seven pennants and four World Series titles. Ruth retired in 1935 and became one of the first five players to be elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. REACH manufactured OAL Harridge ball. Ruth has boldly signed the sweet spot in black steel tip fountain pen which in our opinion rates a strong 8. This baseball was given directly to our consignor more than 70 years ago as a birthday gift from his father. When our consignor received this baseball he immediately put it away knowing he would one day have something special. The baseball has seldom seen the light of day being handled very infrequently and with the utmost caution. This directly reflects why the baseball currently resides in an almost unbelievably white and clean state rating a near 10 with appropriate fading to the stamp. This hobby fresh piece displays beautifully and is accompanied by a full LOA from JSA as well as an LOP from our Consignor detailing its history.
