After retiring from basketball in 1994, Jordan spent the next year pursuing a childhood dream to play professional baseball. He signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox of the American League, reported to spring training, and was assigned to the minor league affiliate Birmingham Barons. In the 1994 season he recorded 51 RBI and 30 SB (tied for fifth in Southern League). He led the club with 11 bases-loaded RBI and 25 RBI with runners in scoring position and two outs. Inside the rear collar is the Wilson manufacturer's plastic tag size “48” with washing instructions, which is correct for the Barons in this era. On the left sleeve is the White Sox team organization logo patch. On the right sleeve is the minor league variation of the MLB “Professional Baseball 125th anniversary”. Across the front reads, “Birmingham” and below and across the back is the player number “45”. All numbering and lettering is done in black on white tackle twill. Jordan signed on the front of the jersey in black marker, and in our opinion the signature rates a 9. This jersey originates from famous LA clothing designer & hobby veteran Jeff Hamilton who acquired this shirt and first made it publicly available back in 2006. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used, and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
