On the inside of the front left tail is a “Rawlings” size “50” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached adjacent is a flag tag that reads, “SET 1 1990” and attached below is a flag tag that reads, “1 INCH EXTRA LENGTH”. Across the chest reads, “Athletics” and the player number “25” appears on both the front and on the back. These are done in green on yellow tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name, “McGWIRE” in green tackle twill on a white nameplate. From period imagery, the lowercase “c” in “McGWIRE” is usually placed near the top of the nameplate instead of how it is seen in this example, which is anchored at the baseline. The team name on the front sits unusually high, just below the first button. This unique placement can actually be seen on the 1990 Mother's Cookies Oakland Athletics cards and this shirt very well may be from that photo shoot. Aside from being used for the photo shoot, it appears to be game-used. On the right sleeve reads, “Rawlings” in green stitching and on the left sleeve is the team’s elephant logo patch embroidered. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
