Hank Bauer won eight World Series championships (seven with the New York Yankees) and he holds the World Series record for the longest hitting streak (17 games). Inside on the rear collar fold is a “A.G. Spalding & Bros.” manufacturer’s tag. Below is a size “46” tag, a “DRY CLEAN ONLY” tag and a “Do Not Wash this garment” tag. On the left chest is the team’s, “NY” logo and on the back is the player number, “25”. These are done in navy blue felt sewn directly onto the pinstriped flannel jersey. The interlocking "NY" and the player number “5” have been restored. On the left sleeve is an embroidered shield patch that reads, “AMERICAN LEAGUE 1901 1951 GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY” which appears to be original. There is a blue hue on the lower part of the jersey and near the underarms, presumably due to multiple washings. The jersey is missing one button. There is no player ID or year present. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use.
