The largest pin in this lot depicts DiMaggio in a pose that surely unnerved pitchers who had to face him – kneeling with his bat as if in the on-deck circle cooly gathering himself up for the kill. Indeed, just the thought of facing DiMaggio could make a pitcher want to change professions, as Joe's .325 lifetime average will attest. The 6" color pin is in good condition with some scratching and staining on the surface. There are two 1 3/4" pins featuring DiMaggio head shots, one of which has a facsimile signature on his image. Each of these has attached red, white and blue ribbons and one has a 5" wood bat, the other a 1 2/2" orange bat and white ball. The colors of both ribbons has faded and the pins are in good condition with rusting on the back. There is also a large 3" retrospective pin with Joe's face inside a circle surrounded by a red, white and blue surface with the words "Joe DiMaggio, New York Yankees" between two different baseball logos, one now-defunct logo of a batter swinging which reads "Major League Baseball Players," and the other the still-current batter and ball "MLB" logo. This pin is in good condition with tarnishing on the back.
