No team in any sport has come close to matching the New York Yankees' skein of 26 titles, which explains why no other symbol in sports is as renowned as the Yankee logo. The image of a high hat perched atop a bat set against the image of a baseball with "Yankees" written across it in scripted letters is likely more recognizable than Uncle Sam. Five of the 12 historic Yankee pins in this lot contain the logo including two PM-10 1 3/4" G pins (one of which has an attached red ribbon), one 6" EX, one 3" VG (made in Japan and featuring the logo in yellow, white and black rather than the usual red, white and blue), and one 4" VG that reads "World Champs" in blue letters and contains color head shots of nine members of the 1978 champion Yankee team. The non-logo pins are: "1957 World Series, New York Yankees, Milwaukee Braves" (red, white, blue, PM-10 1 3/4" VG), "Yankees, American League Champions" (red, white, blue, 1 1/8", G), "New York Yankees, American League Champions" (blue, white, 1 3/4" G), "NY Yankees" (blue, white, issued by American Nut & Chocolate, 1 1/8" VG), "I am a Yankee Fan" (white, orange, brown, 3/4" VG), "ASSCA Salutes World Champion N.Y. Yankees, No. 1, 1977, Nov. 25, 26, 27, 1977" (2 ½" EX), "New York Yankees" (red, white, blue with attached red ribbon, orange bat, white ball, 1 1/4" VG).
