The 1913 Philadelphia Athletics defeated the New York Giants 4-1 in the 1913 World Series. Each player on the Athletics was awarded these big face 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" 14K gold pocket watches for that achievement. On the back of this, excellent to near mint condition watch, is engraved the name Herbert Pennock, and Howard Watch, Boston. Engraved on the outside watch case is an infield diamond, a design and the words World's Champions 1913. There is a letter from Edward Collins, son of the Edward Collins, Hall Of Fame second baseman of the Athletics. Ed Collins was Pennock's son-in-law and he attests to the authenticity of the watch.
1913 Herb Pennock Philadelphia Athletics World Championship Gold Pocket Watch	W/Loa from Eddie Collins Jr.
