Over the last 25 years, maybe only Pedro Martinez has had a more dominating season than Ron Guidry had in 1978. "Louisiana Lightning" posted a 25-3 record with a 1.74 ERA, setting or tying New York Yankee records with 248 strikeouts and nine shutouts. After clinching the AL East title in a tense playoff against Boston, he notched a win in the Yankees' World Series victory against Los Angeles. This beautiful, dead-on replica of Guidry's ‘78 Yankee World Championship ring is a size-10, C.Z. eauty. On the outer edge of the center core are the words "World Champions" and on the left shank is the Yankee logo, the championship trophy and the Yankee Stadium facade. On the right shank is the name "Guidry" above the team's "NY" logo, the year and the words "Pride" and "Tradition." The centerpiece is a C.Z. on a diamond-shaped setting and against a royal blue background bordered by 22 small, 10-point C.Z.'s
