Burleigh Grimes was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1964. The cover of the contract reads, “AMERICAN LEAGUE PLAYER’S CONTRACT - The American League Base Ball Club of New York with Burleigh Grimes of St. Louis”. The cover has the signature of the American League president William Harridge and is dated, “JUN 2 1934”. The body of the contract states that the Hall of Famer Grimes earns “an aggregate salary of $5,000.” The second-to-last page is signed in a secretarial Jacob Ruppert signature and Grimes in black ink on May 28th, 1934 and in our opinion the signatures rate a combined 8. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
